PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of renovating a vertical drain pipe preventing the seal breakage or the like of a trap even if toilet bowl drain or the like flows in at a stroke by forming a resin layer with a uniform thickness on the inner surface of whole piping easily in a short time even if the vertical drain pipe is long. SOLUTION: The method of renovating the vertical drain pipe comprises a cutting process A for cutting the vertical drain pipe extended between a floor to be renovated and an upper floor, in a predetermined position from slab floor faces 1a, 2a of this floor and in a predetermined position from the slab ceiling face of the upper floor and removing a connection part between them; a through part renovating process B for polishing and cleaning the inner surface of a slab through hole of the vertical drain pipe which remains in the slab floor face of this floor and/or the slab ceiling face of the upper floor, then mounting a flow dividing guide 16a to the inner surface facing a connection port 15a of a branch pipe 15 and above a position with which drain flowing in from the branch pipe collides, so that drain discharged from the upper floor to flow down along the inner surface of the vertical drain pipe is laterally branched to flow down, and forming an epoxy resin coat 17 on the inner surface of the slab through part in a state of covering the flow dividing guide; and a connection part renovating process for adding a new pipe to a part removed in the cutting process.
