PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brush applicator at low cost in which a tuft of hairs is firmly retained by a stick and/or which has a tuft of hairs with various kinds of feature. SOLUTION: A brush applicator includes at least one tuft (8) of hairs, a stick (5) with an opening for mounting at one end of the stick (5). The tuft (8) of hairs is fixed to the opening for mounting of the stick by at least one fastener. The mounting is formed by a tubular wall including at least one punched out portion (20) so as to increase the retention force of the fastener and/or modify the configuration of the hairs by the punched out.
