PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft type elevating device capable of elevating and lowering a box body such as a washstand and a sink by a simple structure. SOLUTION: This shaft type elevating device is provided with two first and second shafts 11a, 11b attached slidably to the inside of a washstand main body 31, a winding roller 14 fixed to a horizontal supporting bar fixed in the inside of the washstand main body 31 to wind belts, a first guide roller 15a attached to a lower end of the first shaft 11a, and a second guide roller attached to a lower end of the second shaft 11b. The belt on one side whose one end is fixed to the winding roller 14 is folded back by the first guide roller 15a and whose other end is fixed to the horizontal supporting bar 33b, and the belt on the other side whose one end is fixed to the winding roller 14 is folded back by the second guide roller 15b and whose other end is fixed to the horizontal supporting bar 33b to elevate and lower a washing part 32 by winding and winding back the belts.
