GONDOLA WITH ON-BOARD SAFETY AND DRIVE MECHANISM

The invention relates to a lifting device which is secured along the height of a wall and which comprises a gondola. The gondola can slide along two smooth rails and be locked/unlocked thereon by means of a couple of secure jaws, the actions of which are co-ordinated in order to move along each rail with an alternating clearance. According to the invention, the frame of the gondola is solidly connected to the centre of rotation of a rocking lever.The two secure jaws are driven in translation in a diametrically opposed manner about the centre of rotation of the rocking lever by drive and safety means and said jaws impart a translational movement to the frame of the gondola.
