Surface-hardened dimensionally stable steel - contains carbon, silicon, manganese, chromium, phosphorus and sulphur

Tool steel contains 0.75-85% C, 1.5-1.7% Si, 0.7-0.9% Mn, 0.8-0.9% Cr, 9.012% P and 0.038% S. The materials can be surface-hardened inductively to surface-hardness >860 HV 60. The relatively soft base-material allows plastic deformation. Measurements, esp. parallel end measurements, are improved >10 times wrt steel 100 Cr 6. After partial surface-hardening, the matl. combines hardness stability and resistance to residual austenite stabilisation.
