The magnetic head is operated in conjunction with a cassette with sound recording to record or scan several soundtracks simultaneously. The magnetic head can be adjusted at right angles to the direction of motion of the tape and can be in at least two positions where it can scan the entire width of the tape. The length of the head mirror (3) is approximately equal to half the width of the magnetic tape. It can move in a direction at right angles to the direction of motion of the tape and can traverse at equal distances below and above the pole mirror (2).
