<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive coupling mechanism capable of precisely performing positioning of each unit and alignment of axial center of a rotary member when drive transmission parts provided to a plurality of units are simultaneously connected, and to provide a method for manufacturing an image forming apparatus using the same. <P>SOLUTION: Because the coupling member 35 attached to a rotary shaft 19a of a photoreceptor drum 19 is not positioned, it can be moved matching with a coupling member 41 at the side of a drive unit and fitted into an engagement part 41b of a coupling member 41. The rotary shaft 19a is fitted and fixed to a pin boss part 41c, and the alignment of the axial center of the photoreceptor drum 19 is precisely performed.
