<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely conduct next start up at the freezing point of a fuel cell, even when an ignition switch is turned on and then after a short time, is turned off. <P>SOLUTION: When power generation of the fuel cell is stopped, first scavenging x1 for removing liquid droplets in an oxidant gas passage 146 and second scavenging x2 for removing liquid droplets in a fuel gas passage 148 are successively conducted; and since they are conducted so as not to be simultaneous, an air compressor 36, which is a smaller scavenging means as compared with the conventional technique, can be used for removing liquid droplets. After removing the liquid droplets in the oxidant gas passage 146, since the oxidant gas passage 146 is scavenged by third scavenging x3, the oxidant gas passage 146 can be fully dried to prescribed moisture content. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
