PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering system capable of improving feeling of rigidity in steering and improving detecting precision of steering torque. SOLUTION: A guiding body 4 to guide movement of a rack shaft 2 by making contact with an opposite side surface of a rack tooth 2a of the rack shaft 2 is formed of opposed surfaces 41a, 41a opposed in the circumferential direction of the rack shaft 2 and a pair of half bodies 41, 41 having contact parts 41c, 41c making contact with each other on the side of the rack shaft 2 of the opposed surfaces 41a, 41a, a pressure detector 13 is arranged between the opposed surfaces 41a, 41a of a pair of the half bodies 41, 41, pressurizing force F with which the rack shaft 2 is pressurized to the side of the guiding part 4 by engaging reaction force generated on an engaging part of a pinion 1a and the rack tooth 2a is added to a pair of the half bodies 41, 41 and the pressurizing force F is detected by oscillating a pair of the half bodies 41, 41 with the contact parts 41c, 41c as an oscillating fulcrum.
