PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a false-twister of contact heating type, enabling stable filament yarn manufacturing through solving such problems as workability, cost and filament yarn manufacturing conditions. SOLUTION: The false-twister for drawing and false-twisting a synthetic fiber having a contact-type grooved heating portion for securing twist form is provided. In this false-twister, the ratio D/W of a depth D (mm) of the groove to the width W (mm) of an inlet of the groove in cross-sectional profile of the grooved heating portion vertical to the traveling direction of the fiber is 1.5-7.0.
