PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transparent ice making device without use of an ice making can, requiring only short time for ice making and a smaller installation area. SOLUTION: This ice making device comprises a water storage tank 4 for reserving predetermined amount of water 2 and an ice making part consisting of a metal cylinder 6 which generates transparent ice in contact with water in a lower wall of the water storage tank 4. A concentric ice 3 is generated outside the metal cylinder 6 by a cylinder having an injection port for injecting cooled brine 11 inside the ice making part and cooling surface of the ice making part. The device has a means for removing the made ice 3 from surface of the metal cylinder 6 by heating/melting an ice layer contact surface by a heater 8 inside a generation part of the transparent ice. In this method, the concentric ice is continuously made by using the transparent ice making device and repeating a removal/floatation process due to buoyancy of ice itself accompanying ice making and melting in a predetermined cycle.
