PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform optimum fixation in accordance with kinds of paper. SOLUTION: The fixing device includes: a thermal fixing roller 2; an upstream side support roller 4 provided on the upstream side in the rotating direction of the thermal fixing roller 2; a downstream side support roller 6 provided on the downstream side in the rotating direction of the roller 2; an endless belt 8 stretched to be laid between the upstream side and downstream side rollers 4 and 6; and a pressurizing means 16 for pressurizing each of the upstream side and downstream side rollers 4 and 6 against the thermal fixing roller 2 across the belt 8. The fixing device also includes a pressurizing force changing means 18 for changing balance in the pressurizing force of each of the upstream side and downstream side rollers 4 and 6 against the thermal fixing roller 2 across the belt 8.
