PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screwing depth adjusting mechanism for a screw driver, which surely carries out switching adjustment of a screwing depth. SOLUTION: The screwing depth adjusting mechanism for the screw driver carries out adjustment of an interval between a contact arm 13 and a stop valve 18, and adjustment of the screwing depth of a driving screw. Herein a switching block 32 rotatable around a rotating shaft 37 orthogonal to a moving direction of the contact arm 13, is arranged at an engaging portion of a stop valve 18 with an upper edge of the contact arm 13. The switching block 32 has formed thereon two engaging surfaces 33a, 34a which are different in distance from the rotating shaft 37 from each other, and the engaging surfaces 33a, 34a are selectively engageable with an upper edge of the contact arm 13 by operating the switching block 32 for rotation from the outside.
