ENDOSCOPE AND HYDROPHILIC CAP

An endoscope has an insertion section provided with a distal end section and inserted into a subject; observation means placed inside the insertion section; an optical member forming a part of the outer surface of the distal end section and pervious to imaging light entering into the observation means; a first hydrophilic section coated on at least the surface of the optical member; a second hydrophilic section coated on a first surface of the distal end section at which the optical member is placed; and a third hydrophilic section coated on a second surface different from the first surface of the distal end section. The endoscope is capable of clearly taking a video image in a highly humid body cavity even if an operation over a long time is performed with the endoscope left inserted in the body cavity.
