A control circuit of a vacuum cleaner is provided to minimize harmonic current by flowing current through a second switch at the weak or middle range of a variable resistor, and to prevent flicker by flowing current through a delay circuit to a motor at the strong range of the variable resistor. A control circuit of a vacuum cleaner comprises a first switch(10) connected between a motor(2) and a power unit, a variable resistor(20) varying the resistance value according to operation of a user, a motor driving unit(30) regulating RPM of the motor according to the resistance value of the variable resistor, a delay circuit unit(40) connected between the variable resistor and the motor driving unit to delay current applied to the motor driving unit, and a second switch(50) connected to the delay circuit unit in parallel between the variable resistor and the motor driving unit and interlocked with the variable resistor. The second switch is turned off according to the resistance value corresponding to flicker by operating the variable resistor with the user.
