<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an actuator capable of driving a driven body, such as a head slider, in a novel mode, a slider unit, a suspension, a hard disk device, and a piezoelectric element used for them. <P>SOLUTION: The actuator 30 includes: a pair of bent members 36, 38 bent so that they respectively have tops 36a, 38a wherein the tops 36a, 38a are mechanically coupled with each other through a coupling member 40; and a piezoelectric element 50. One ends of the bent members 36, 38 are fixed. The piezoelectric element 50 is disposed so as to transmit displacement to the other ends of the individual bent members 36, 38 to change the distance between both ends of each of the bent members 36, 38. When the piezoelectric element 50 transmits displacement to the bent members 36, 38, the tops 36a, 38a of the bent members 36, 38 are moved in the direction orthogonal to reference straight lines L1, L2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
