PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide granules containing an organic natural polymer, and having sustained releasability, excellent heat-resistance and water resistance and high sphericity and hardness.

SOLUTION: The invention provides a method for producing granules containing an organic natural polymer and calcium alginate. An aqueous solution containing an alginic acid salt is added to a powdery or granular material containing an organic natural polymer and a calcium salt and the calcium salt and the alginic acid salt are at least partly reacted with each other to form calcium alginate.
