PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collision detection system capable of precisely determining collision without depending upon a state of the circumference. SOLUTION: This collision detection system has car body members 31, 32 in which specified spaces 33 are formed and the spaces are deformed by collision, a pressure detection means 1 to detect pressure in the spaces and a collision determination means to determine the collision in accordance with a rate of change of capacity by finding the rate of change of the capacity of the spaces from the pressure detected by the pressure detection means. The collision detection system is a system without an error of a detection result caused by outside pressure because the collision is not determined from a change of pressure in the specified spaces.
