PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording apparatus for correcting a gradient for image data corresponding to a gradient of a recording element row, and recording the same image data efficiently and repeatedly without requiring a large storage capacity in a buffer for storing the image data. SOLUTION: The image recording apparatus 1 is provided for using a recording head 21 in which a recording element row is disposed so as to have a gradient relative to a main scanning direction thereof, and repeatedly recording the same image on a recording medium in the main scanning direction, wherein corrected image data having a corrected gradient divided into first and third corrected image data including null data and second corrected image data containing no null data, and thereby produced to be stored in buffer means 25. A recording control means 26 of the image recording apparatus 1 controls so that the first corrected image data are read to perform image recording, and thereafter the second corrected image data are read to repeatedly perform image recording at predetermined times, and finally the third corrected image data are read to perform image recording.
