PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brush bristle material for polishing and a polishing brush, making abrasive grains hardly fall off a brush bristle material for polishing when it is used for washing and polishing a rolling roll in a manufacturing process of a metal sheet, not causing breakage of bristle material in washing and polishing, having excellent durability such as excellent flexure fatigue in the root part of the planted bristle material, and continuously exhibiting polishing performance. SOLUTION: This brush bristle material for polishing is formed of composite mono-filament having a double-core sheath structure, the core part of the composite mono-filament is made of a mixture of synthetic resin and abrasive particles, and the sheath part is made of another synthetic resin different from that of the core part.
