PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic thermometer with a progress indicator for informing intuitively a user of a progress situation of a process as to an activity state during prediction measurement of a bodily temperature. SOLUTION: A probe contacts with a patient to transmit a temperature signal to a control unit. The final temperature of the patient calculated by logic circuit constitution in the control unit is quickly displayed in the progress indicator 23 of an LCD display. A control circuit of the thermometer executes at least one temperature calculation as a function of a detected temperature, and generates the temperature signal for expressing the temperature of an object, based on the temperature calculation. The progress indicator 23 visually indicates the progress of the control circuit under the temperature calculation. In the progress indicator 23, a progress display is advanced according to the start of convergence toward a target in a prediction sequence under the progress, by a variable length of a bar, or a segmented bar mode.
