PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a portable terminal to share data with a personal computer or the like installed in an office or the like to perform unitary management of data, while making the portable terminal small-sized, lightweight, and low-cost. SOLUTION: A computer (2) which executes stand-alone application software (204) and a portable terminal (3) are so connected that they can communicate with each other. The computer has a means (202) of inputting data received from the portable terminal to the application software and a means (203) of transmitting output data which are a processing result of the application software, to the portable terminal. The portable terminal has a means (302) of transmitting data to be inputted to the application software of the computer, to the computer and a means (303) for supplying output data which are received from the computer as the processing result of the application software, to the output device of the terminal itself.
