PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently form an image on an image forming medium, in an image forming apparatus equipped with a storage means for storing a long-sized image forming medium. SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, a paper storage mechanism 50 for temporarily storing the paper P is provided on the downstream side of an exposure engine 7 that scan-exposes the paper P. The paper storage mechanism 50 includes a plurality of cylindrical members 51 and 51, a connecting member 52 for connecting them, and a motor for rotating the connecting member 52. The exposed paper P is temporarily stored on the cylindrical member 51 in a rolled state, and is then conveyed to a conveying unit 12 of the downstream side. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
