An advertising system using RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) and a method therefor are provided to enable a mobile phone user to easily note down information on an interested advertisement as well as to immediately display or purchase a product when necessary through detailed information stored by being downloaded. A mobile communication terminal obtains basic information about an advertisement from an RFID tag of an advertisement poster(S1). The terminal transmits the basic information obtained from the RFID tag to an advertisement provider's server(S2). The provider's server downloads detailed information corresponding to the basic information, and stores the downloaded information in the terminal(S3). The terminal displays the detailed information about the advertisement stored by being downloaded from the server(S4).
