<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of ink consumption when a color image or a monochrome image which requires no high quality to be maintained is to be printed. <P>SOLUTION: A printer (printing apparatus) 20 which can perform printing by using at least inks (chromatic color inks) of C, M, Y, Lc, and Lm, a K3 ink (first achromatic color ink) containing an achromatic colorant, and K1, K2 inks (second achromatic color inks) in which achromatic colorants are contained in a concentration lower than that of the K3 ink is to be controlled, a first process or a second process is selectively executed. In the first process, printing is performed by causing the printer 20 to use at least the inks of C, M, Y, Lc, Lm, K1, K2, and K3, and, in the second process, the printer 20 is caused to perform printing by using at least the inks of C, M, Y, Lc, Lm, K1, and K2 without using the K3 ink. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
