PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display LCD device and a method for fabricating the same, wherein the fabrication time and costs can be reduced by applying a photoresist with two different heights subjected to a diffraction exposure process and a lift-strip process of the photoresist and forming a thin film transistor array substrate by three times of mask process. SOLUTION: An LCD device comprises: a gate line 112, a gate electrode 12a, and a gate pad electrode 122 which are formed on a substrate; a data line 115 crossing the gate line, source and drain electrodes 115a and 115b formed over the gate electrode, and a data pad electrode 125 formed at an end of the data line; a gate insulating layer and a semiconductor layer formed under the data line, the source and drain electrodes, and the data pad electrode; a protective layer formed on a semiconductor layer channel region between the source and drain electrodes; and a pixel electrode 117 electrically connected to the drain electrode.
