PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid operation failure of an entire system even when a power source of an indoor unit supplying direct current to a communication line is cut off due to failure. SOLUTION: During the time a power supply circuit 9 is cut off from the communication line 3 in step 303, determinations in steps 301 and 304 are repeated. When the direct current voltage of the communication line 3 is in a state less than a predetermined voltage for a predetermined period of time, in step 307, the supply circuit 9 is connected to the communication line 3. Thereby, when the power source of the indoor unit with the smallest communication address for supplying direct current to the communication line is cut off due to failure, the remaining indoor units which have not failed detect that the power supply to the communication line has been cut off, direct current is supplied from the indoor unit with the second smallest communication address to the communication line, and operation of a wired remote controller becomes possible again.
