PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contact for a socket of an area array type integrated circuit which is smaller in size, while a contact reliability with a sufficient electrical connection is assured. SOLUTION: The contact (50) is composed of an upper contact part (52) which contacts a bump of an IC package, lower terminal parts (72, 82) which are connected electrically with a circuit board and of which the base end (72) is fixed with a socket for an integrated circuit board and an elastic body part (62) including a curved part (66) of an approximate C shape which is projected toward a side between the upper contact part (52) and the lower contact terminal parts (72, 82), and the upper contact part (52) is designed to shift in an upward/downward direction by the elastic body part (62). The upper contact part (52) is provided with two contact pieces (56, 56a, 56b) which are protecting upward almost in parallel each other and each of the upper end sides of the contact pieces (56, 56a, 56b) is inclined to draw nearer each other and a distance between two of the contact pieces becomes narrower as they go upward and is provided with each of round and curved upper end parts (58, 58a, 58b).
