PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeding device capable of preventing double feeding of sheets securely without scratching a surface of the sheet. SOLUTION: The sheets P fed out by double feeding by a pick-up roll 52 are fed back onto a paper feeding tray 44 by a separation roll 70 securely by changing rotation speed in the direction of reverse rotation of the separation roll 70 in accordance with type of sheet P. Consequently, it is possible to prevent the sheets P from being conveyed into an image forming part 12 while the sheets P are doubly fed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
