PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To greatly improve the oil trapping efficiency by intercepting a great part of oil intrusion near an inlet 11. SOLUTION: An oil separator separates oil mist from blowby gas introduced from the inlet 11. The oil separator comprises a bottom wall 22 to open the inlet 11, a circumferential wall 23 raised upward from the outer edge of the bottom wall 22, and a shielding plate 24 to cover the upper part of the inlet 11 arranged at the upper part of the bottom wall 22. A gas passage 25 is formed between the shielding plate 24 and the bottom wall 22 to let the blowby gas flow toward the circumferential wall 23. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
