<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an open locking mechanism for a cover member of a simple structure of a printing device, which can certainly retain the cover member even in a full open position state without increasing the overall width of the device. <P>SOLUTION: The cover member 2 is pivotally attached, in a freely turning manner, to a pivot 3 fitted to one end of a main body frame 1. In addition, a boss part 9 is pivotally attached to the pivot 3 in a freely turning manner, and the respective external end parts 11b and 11b of securing pins 11 and 11 on both ends are engaged with engagement holes 10b and 10b on both sides, in the way that the securing pins 11 and 11 are freely retractable to the engagement holes 10b and 10b. Further, the respective external end parts 11b and 11b are engaged with positioning holes 2b and 2b on both sides, and extend from side plates 2a and 2a on both sides.
