<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a double-face printing to be performed while correcting the shifting of an exposure line by an exposing apparatus without inverting and storing image data for the rear surface printing in an image memory. <P>SOLUTION: In the front surface printing, when the image data (Figure a) held in the image memory 140 is read for each pixel in the main scanning direction x, correction data 0 to 4 which are provided for each block A1 to AN consisting of a plurality of pixels are referred, and the image data is read while being shifted by the value in the subsidiary scanning direction y, and is input in the exposing apparatus. In this case, the reading is performed in the order of lines 1, 2 and so forth (Figure b). Then, in the rear surface printing, when the image data (Figure a) is read in the main scanning direction x, the same correction data is referred, and the image data is read while being shifted by the value of the correction data in the subsidiary scanning direction y, and is input in the exposing apparatus. In this case, the reading is performed in the order of lines 1, 2 and so forth (Figure c).
