PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting tip with replaceable edge capable of making anti-abrasiveness and toughness compatible to a high degree, and preventing the facial layer from exfoliation to a high degree. SOLUTION: The cutting tip with replaceable edge has a base material and a covering layer, the latter including inner layers and an outer layer, wherein each of the inner layers is formed from a specific layer containing at least one from among the IVa group elements selected according to the Periodic Table, Va group elements, VIa group elements, Al and Si; while the uppermost of the layers which is contacting with the outer layer is formed from a compound containing at least Ti and one or more of the nitrogen and boron, and the outer layer is formed from an alumina layer or a layer containing alumina and in the part contributing to machining, in which the condition B/A≤0.9 is satisfied, where A inμm is the average thickness on the flank side of the part contributing to machining and Bμm is the average thickness on the rake face side.
