PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bronze method Nb<SB>3</SB>Sn superconducting wire, and a method for manufacturing the superconducting wire capable of suppressing generation of aδphase larger, as compared with an Nb filament diameter, even if bronze of high Sn concentration is used, and to provide superconducting characteristics of practical level in a high magnetic field. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the superconducting wire, the bronze method Nb<SB>3</SB>Sn superconducting wire is manufactured by using a precursor 5 formed, by embedding a plurality of Nb or Nb-based alloy cores 1 in Cu-Sn based alloy base material 2. The Cu-Sn based alloy base material 2 containing Sn of >15.6 and≤19 mass% is used, and a plurality of stages of solution treatment for maintaining at a temperature T1 in a range of 650-797°C at a first stage, and maintaining at a temperature T2 in a range of 500-670°C at a final stage (where T1>T2) are conducted.
