PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical apparatus in which the lighting position of a light beam is varied while varying pixel clock and phase, to provide an image forming apparatus and to provide a method of controlling the optical apparatus. SOLUTION: Firstly, an APC lighting signal (shown in Fig.8(c)) in which the lighting terminating position of the light beam lighting range is varied is generated (Step S701), secondly, an APC lighting signal (shown in Fig.8(d)) in which the lighting beginning position of the light beam lighting range is varied is generated (Step S702), and the light beam lighting range is varied toward the scanning terminating side in a main scanning direction. In the APC lighting signal (shown in Fig.8(c)) after varying the lighting terminating position, the APC lighting position is varied toward the scanning terminating side in the main scanning direction, and the lighting beginning position always stays before the lighting terminating position. Thus, the beginning and the terminating of the APC lighting are performed during one scanning process, and a series of operations are completed. Thus, the APC lighting beyond a line beginning signal, which is found in a conventional optical apparatus, is never performed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
