PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device which is superior in economy and has good efficiency. SOLUTION: The light source device is equipped with: an optical pulse generator which outputs an optical pulse train; an optical shutter which generates a plurality of optical pulse trains having a fixed time width by cutting off and passing the optical pulse train, an optical amplifier which amplifies optical pulse trains having passed through the optical shutter; and an optical fiber which generates supercontinuous light from the optical pulse train amplified by the optical amplifier.
