PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation angle sensor capable of forming regions with different axial double angles from each other on a rotor itself and a stator itself with a simple structure and outputting outputs with different axial double angles as absolute position information. SOLUTION: The rotation angle sensor has a salient pole shape of a rotor having its center angle included in a predetermined center angle range of less than 180 degrees, preferably 90 degrees and a plurality of stator magnetic poles including a stator coil in a stator yoke with a different axial double angle for each of the predetermined center angle range. The rotor is structured to include the predetermined center angle range containing salient pole shapes respectively corresponding to the different axial double angles in a single integral rotor manufactured as a single unit. The plurality of stator magnetic poles of the stator yoke are arranged corresponding to the salient pole shapes of the integral rotor. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
