PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary expansion machine in which a suction volume can be adequately set without forming a complicated passage, and the suction volume can be changed in operation. SOLUTION: The rotary expansion machine is provided with a partition vane 51 to partition an expansion chamber 32 into a high pressure side expansion chamber 32a and a low pressure side expansion chamber 32b. A suction port 41a is formed in the high pressure side expansion chamber 32a. The rotary expansion machine is provided with a closing vane 61 to close the downstream side of the suction port 41a by projecting from a vane groove 63, and a cam 70 holding the closing vane 61 in the recessed state in the valve groove 63.
