A targeted marketing system is provided including a first database for the containment of data relating to customers and a second database for the containment of data relating to products and/or services being provided by one or more retailers.The customer data includes products and/or services of interest to each customer and at least one form of communication means associated with each customer.The system includes means for comparing the data relating to the products and/or services in the first database with the data relating to the products and/or services in the second database and,on identification of a match between the products and/or services in the first and second databases,data from the second database relating to the matched products and/or services is communicated to the customers using the communication means data provided in the first database.
