METHOD OF RECYCLING WASTE HIGH-DENSITY POLYETHYLENE USING REACTIVE EXTRUSION

<p>A method for manufacturing recycled high density polyethylene is provided to economically produce recycled high density polyethylene having mechanical properties equal to or better than new high density polyethylene by recycling waste high density polyethylene. The method for manufacturing recycled high density polyethylene comprises the steps of: mixing 20-40wt% of waste high density polyethylene with 60-80wt% of new high density polyethylene having a bimodal molecular weight distribution; adding a peroxide cross-linking agent to the mixture; and melt-mixing the admixture at 165-175°C and at a speed of 35-45RPM for 8-12minutes. The peroxide cross-linking agent is dicumyl peroxide or perbutyl peroxide.</p>
