<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical cable closure that can save labor for removing an outer box in an connecting operation of optical cable and that can prevent the optical cable from being pinched. <P>SOLUTION: A cover member 5 is slidably installed in the longitudinal direction on a long and narrow container body 4 for housing an optical cable 10, and is made to stop by a restraining member 13. The container body 4 is a box shape with an opening on top. The restraining member 13 is provided on the end face 7 of the container body 4 or on the end face of the cover member 5, and is composed of a projected piece which is rotatably mounted between a projected position for stopping the sliding of the cover member 5 and a retracted position for allowing the sliding of the member 5.
