PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent repairing technique for restoring both an external characteristic part and an internal geometrical shape of a damaged part. SOLUTION: This method for repairing a gas turbine engine component 12 includes a step of repairing one of a negative pressure surface 14 or a positive pressure surface 16 of the component, a step of repairing the internal geometrical shape of the component after repairing one of the negative pressure surface or the positive pressure surface of the component and a step of repairing the other of the negative pressure surface and the positive pressure surface of the component after repairing the internal geometrical shape of the component, and keeps the internal geometrical shape of the component by using a backing material when repairing the other of the negative pressure surface and the positive pressure surface of the component.
