PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a route change method which immediately responds to a change in communication path when a plurality of bridges are newly connected to one existing switch in the shape of a ring. SOLUTION: Each bridge 1 comprises a functions of: transmitting a line fault notification to bridges with a blocking port at the time of link disconnection detection on a network 3, if the own bridge does not have a blocking port; a function for transmitting a blocking advertisement packet if the own bridge has the blocking port; memorizing an address of a transmission source bridge at the time of reception of the blocking advertisement; transiting the blocking port to the forwarding status, and transmitting a blocking release advertisement upon receipt of the line fault notification if the own bridge has the blocking port; erasing a forwarding database at the time of reception of the blocking release advertisement; and sending out to an existing switch 2 a re-learning packet for changing a learning port at the existing switch.
