PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position detection system which is unnecessary of initial setting such as troublesome proofreading registration for every vehicle and also unnecessary of movable scanner. SOLUTION: The optical beacons #0 to #6 emitting light patterns including ID code are distributively provided in the moving space of the vehicle 2. In the vehicle 2, at least 3 optical beacons are recognized from the optical ID code emitted from each optical beacon, and also from recognized each optical beacon the direction of the light is detected and from the result of the detection, the position of the vehicle 2 is detected. Further, the optical beacons are composed of the optical beacon #0 which emits light with prescribed interval, and the optical beacons #1 to #6 which emit light by receiving the light emission pattern emitted from the other optical beacons. Among these optical beacons, the optical beacon #0 repeats emission of light pattern with longer interval than the total sum of intervals of the optical beacons #1 to #6. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
