PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piping tape which is sewn on an edge of a fabric of garment bowing with a large curvature such as neckline of an undershirt, free from anxiety of causing wrinkles on sewn part of the tape or causing the fabric slantingly standing. SOLUTION: The piping tape is provided with a curvature matching to the cut shape of the fabric to be sewn. The piping tape elastic in longitudinal direction is woven or knitted with elastic fibers as warp, wherein the tape or the tape folded in two has curved shape with a predetermined curvature due to the stepwise or continuous step down or step up of substantial warp length from one end to the other end of the tape width direction or from central part to the both ends, in a natural state in which tension is not loaded to the warp constituting the tape. The tension of the warp in tape width direction, elongation strength, density or numbers of intermingling points per unit length of the warp gradually step downs or step ups.
