PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel saving drive system facilitated in fuel saving drive for a driver by strengthening the drive operating feeling of the driver, and to provide a control method thereof. SOLUTION: This fuel saving drive system is provided with an accelerator operating force adjusting means 4, a moving means 6 for moving the accelerator operating force adjusting means 4, and a control means 7. The control means 7 is structured to move the accelerator operating force adjusting means 4 in a direction for strengthening the accelerator operating force at a predetermined acceleration stroke position in relation to the moving means 6 in the fuel saving mode.
