PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably execute beautiful stitches to the cloth of any thickness. SOLUTION: The sewing machine comprises: a presser bar 21; a presser bar guide plate 31 attached to the presser bar 21; an eccentric knob 35 rotatably attached to a machine frame 11; a first link plate 32 rotatable around an eccentric shaft 35a and connected to the eccentric knob 35, for which a slide pin 31a is slidably connected in the radial direction of the eccentric shaft 35a; a second link plate 33 rotatably attached to the machine frame 11 and connected to the first link plate 32 slidably in the radial direction of the eccentric shaft 35a on the opposite side of the slide pin 31a in regard to the eccentric shaft 35a; a thread guard attaching member 34 vertically movably supported by the machine frame 11 and connected to the second link plate 33 on the opposite side of the slide pin 33c in regard to the rotary shaft 33a of the second link plate 33; and a thread guard tool 36 provided on the thread guard attaching member 34.
