Chimney for open fireplace - has combustion and heating air pipes in front plate and base, and is erected on site from standard demountable components

The chimney assembled from prefabricated components. The base contains openings for combustion air in which dampers are fitted and also has a recess forming an ash pit. The hearth, is shaped to fit over this. The front heating element contains air pipes to give convective heating. The hearth and side pieces are of refractory material to give heat retention and recuperative heating. The front plate can be a decorative piece on the room side of the chimney.
