A cleaning system using a home network and a controlling method thereof are provided to automatically open the window or to drive an air cleaning system before starting to clean a house through a robot cleaner, and to automatically close the window or to stop driving the air cleaning system if cleaning operation of the robot cleaner is finished, thereby improving user's convenience. A window driver(30) is configured in a home network, and automatically opens or closes indoor windows. A server(20) wirelessly controls a robot cleaner(10) in a remote place, and operates the window driver(30) before the robot cleaner(10) is driven in a cleaning mode, then stops operating the window driver(30) after the driven state of the robot cleaner(10) stops.
