<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte battery in which high safety (flame resistance) to be obtained by using an ion liquid as the nonaqueous electrolyte is ensured, which has high energy density, and which is superior in high rate charge and discharge characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: In the nonaqueous electrolyte battery provided with at least a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator, and a nonaqueous electrolyte constituted of at least a lithium salt and an organic compound which is liquid at room temperature, the nonaqueous electrolyte contains as "the organic compound which is liquid at room temperature", an ion liquid composed of at least saturate aliphatic cyclic quarternary ammonium cation and anion consisting of only nonmetal element, and cyclic carbonate and/or aliphatic carbonate, and contains lithium cation at the concentration of 0.5 mol/l or more. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
